About Prefetial

What Prefetial is for, who writes it, how claims are checked, and where to write when we get something wrong.

What you are reading

Prefetial is a blog, and the line under the logo, Getting things done, without the hustle noise, is the whole editorial brief. New articles go up when they are ready, and everything we have published stays available in the blog archive.

Prefetial began because the straight answers about Down-to-earth productivity for focus, habits, and getting things done were scattered across forum threads, comment sections, and messages nobody archived. We decided to write them down properly instead.

Where we stop

We are not the right place for advice tailored to your exact situation. Prefetial publishes general guidance, and the difference matters more than it sounds.

How an article gets made

Every piece here starts with a question somebody actually asked. If we cannot answer it from experience or from a source we can name, it does not get published.

Nobody has editorial input except the people whose names are on the articles. That includes anyone who has ever sent us money.

The full process, including corrections and commercial links, is set out on the editorial policy page.

What we cover

  • Focus. Holding your attention on what matters in a world built to distract.
  • Habits. Building habits that actually stick, and dropping ones that do not serve you.
  • Time Management. Managing time in a way that fits real life, not a rigid ideal.
  • Organization. Keeping work and tasks organized without overcomplicating everything.
  • Work and Career. Getting more done at work without burning yourself out.
  • Productivity Tools. Whether the apps and systems actually help, and how to use them well.
  • Games. Video games and gaming, from what we play to how games connect to the rest of life.

Articles are filed under one topic each, so an archive page reads as a list rather than a pile. Most of the traffic here lands on focus, habits and time management.

The money side

Hosting and research come out of the same pocket that buys the things we write about. That keeps the running costs honest and the pace slow.

Bylines

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and every name links to a page listing everything else they have written.

Esme Caldwell, Focus and work writer. Esme writes about attention and meaningful work, skeptical of hustle culture and focused on what genuinely helps.

Julian Rask, Time and organization writer. Julian covers time management and organization for real, messy lives rather than idealized ones.

Nadia Belov, Habits and tools writer. Nadia writes about habit change and productivity tools, translating behavior research into things people can actually do.

Why this name

People ask about the name. There is rarely a good story behind a domain, and there is not one here either. Prefetial was available, it was short enough to say out loud, and it has been the name long enough now that changing it would be more confusing than keeping it.

Fixing mistakes

Tell us which line is wrong and why, at [email protected] or through the contact page. Small errors are corrected the same week. Anything that changes the advice gets a dated note at the bottom of the article.
